Xena: Warrior Princess Xena Stuff

Who is Xena: Warrior Princess?
Xena: Warrior Princess is the main character of the television show Xena: Warrior Princess. She is a female warrior who uses her strength and contacts to free the world from 'evil'.

Who is the production company?
Renaissance Pictures.

What is Xena's history?
I couldn't possibly top Whoosh!'s biography of Xena. It tells you pretty much everything! So, HERE it is!

Who is Callisto?
Callisto is, for the most part, Xena's nemesis. According to Callisto, it was Xena who had created the monster that she was. Xena, in her 'evil' days, had attacked Callisto's small town and in the process, Callisto's entire family was killed. Callisto grew up plotting her revenge on Xena.

Who is Xena's father? Mother?
Xena's mother was Cyrene; that is clear. However, this is some speculation as to exactly who Xena's father was. Technically, Atreus is Xena's father. He 'disappeared' when Xena was seven years old, only to later find that he attempted to kill Xena and Cyrene killed him before he could harm her daughter. We are told that Atreus had come home in a rage after visiting Ares' Temple. What did Atreus learn at Ares' Temple to put him in such a rage? These questions bring us to the speculation that Ares had made a visit to Cyrene in the form of Atreus the night of Xena's conception. Could Ares be Xena's true father? Were Xena and Gabrielle lesbians?
The sapphic overtures in the Xena: Warrior Princess are hard to dismiss. There are many instances in the show that hint to a lesbian relationship between Xena and Gabrielle. There is no question of that. However, there is no episode that confirms this speculation. I won't go into it here, as there are TONS of sites, newsgroups and mailing lists that go into this question in detail. Try Whoosh!'s FAQ on the subject of their proported lesbian relationship for more info.

Who is Eve's Father?
There is some contraversy surrounding the paternity of Eve. Technically, Eve's 'father' is Callisto. Callisto 'gave' Xena a child by touching her in a gesture of forgiveness. What is more interesting is that Callisto says to Xena, "My time has come to be reincarnated into the mortal world—and the body that will bear my spirit has been ordained. I can think of no greater mother than you." This would mean that not only is Callisto the 'father' of Eve, but she IS Eve! How cool is THAT? ;o)
